Meet the Team
Dr. McCarthy & Staff Nancy Elder Hi! My name is Nancy Elder. I am the office manager for Dr. Mark McCarthy. I have worked for Dr. Mark for twenty years. I have two daughters. Jen is my eldest. She is married and she and her husband Rudy have a daughter Alexis and a son also named Rudy. My youngest daughter Liz and her husband Austyn are stationed at Eglin Air Force base in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. He will be in the Air Force for five years to repay his dental school debt. I am a dog lover and have a pug named Frank that I am especially fond of. I spend most of my free time caring for my dogs, walking 3-5 times a week, and dancing. I am a certified Zumba instructor and currently teach Zumba 5 times a week. Zumba is an aerobic dance class choreographed to Latin music, is great fun, and can be an intense workout! I love listening to music and learning new Zumba songs to teach my students. I am currently studying for my Group Exercise Certification which will allow me to teach all group exercise classes except speciality classes such as Yoga, PiYo, and Pilates. (Those are coming later!) I enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren. St. Louis has been my home for my entire life but I cherish going to the beach in Destin, Florida whenever possible. Maggie Farrell My name is Maggie Farrell. I have been a dental hygienist since 1975 and have been working with Dr. Mark McCarthy for the past nine years. I am a single mother of five. I have two daughters who live in California, and two boys and another daughter who live with me here in St. Louis. Recently I moved from Kirkwood to Chesterfield exploring new shopping,parks and activities in the valley. Grady, my grandson will turn two in August. My daughter Erin got engaged to Jeff at her son's birthday and will be married in November. She and Jeff had their second son, Mannix Grant born in June. My oldest daughter Megan and her husband Bill had a son, Owen Liam in March. I am known as the Grammy far away! TJ and Patrick are "late bloomers" and will graduate from college in 2009. Molly is attending college in Quincy, Il. My new effort is recycling and using more eco friendly products at home thanks to the urging of my California "granola girls". People say I am outgoing, humorous, and caring which also helps me in my field of work. My hobbies involve planning events like dinner parties, church functions, and traveling. I also enjoy gardening, particularly orchids. I regularly participate in continuing education and am part of a hygiene study club. Learning new things is another passion as is meeting new people. You can never have enough best friends! Pat Vandiver Hi. My name is Pat Vandiver. I am Dr. Mark McCarthy’s assistant (or his second set of hands). I have known Dr. Mark for twenty-two years and have worked full time with him for the past nineteen years. I love my job and thoroughly enjoy working with Mark, Nancy, and Maggie. I hope to make this my place of retirement, although not too soon. I am married to my wonderful husband Ronnie. We have two adult daughters. We are blessed with two wonderful grandsons who I love to be with and of course SPOIL. Second to being a grandmother, I enjoy camping, boating, reading, and traveling, especially to the Caribbean. Summer finally arrived and we have been enjoying our lake lot for camping. We bought a boat this summer and have been enjoying it as well. |
